Ten years ago when best friends Ben Cleary-Corradini and Theo Roduner were dishing up bowls of gnocchi for $10 each at their local markets, they had no idea this was the start of something big. Soon they were selling out of gnocchi at not just one, but six markets each week.
As their following grew, so too did their confidence, enough so that they finally opened their first brick-and-mortar store.
Now the two Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers co-founders live and breathe (and eat) gnocchi day to day, serving up the authentic Italian cuisine one potato-ey morsel at a time.
From market stalls to multi-venue business
Opening their first store was intense for the two founders: “We were running on adrenalin for the first six months, basically”, said Ben. What began as hand-making 150 kilos of gnocchi a week to service their markets turned into 400 kilos a week just for their one store, alone.
“We do tonnes and tonnes [of gnocchi] now. We’re not talking about kilos” said Ben with Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers now comprising dine-in venues, takeaway venues, and phantom kitchens.
Doshii streamlining delivery apps
Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers’ success really took off when they welcomed delivery apps into the fold. But the constant dinging of new orders hitting the apps on their phones and tablets overwhelmed them as much as it excited them, which is why they turned to Doshii for help streamlining.
“The fact we’ve got Doshii dealing with all of the delivery apps means there’s so much less double handling, which is fantastic for the staff because they can just get on with their job” said Ben. “It just made business so much easier”. Now orders across platforms like Uber Eats and DoorDash feed directly into their POS system and go straight through to their kitchen.

POSync takes the thinking out of online ordering menu management
It’s not just delivery orders that can be streamlined with Doshii, so too can updates to Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers menu and pricing. “One of the critical success factors of being in the restaurant business is to know your cost structure of your meals,” said Ben. With factors like inflation, ingredient availability, and labour costs, their business is often reviewing and updating prices to reflect these factors.
