Across Tasmania, a small pizza chain called WiseGuise has cooked up a remarkable success story.
What began as a modest venture in 2015 with orders taken via pen and paper has flourished into a thriving business with five bustling locations, top-notch hospitality-tech and a dedicated team of over 100 employees. And according to owner Alex Jones (and his mum, Elizabeth Rayment, who joined us on our call), their incredible journey from a small hospitality venue to a thriving pizza powerhouse has been boosted in part by their integration with Doshii, OrderMate, Uber Eats and DoorDash.
As WiseGuise continues to sizzle with success and dreams to expand further, their unique approach to business and unwavering commitment to social responsibility are an aspirational story for any venue hoping to carve out a piece of the hospitality industry pie.
WiseGuise wanted longterm growth and they knew that simplicity and efficiency were key. These weren’t preferences – they were must-haves.
As Elizabeth explains, especially in the early days, Alex’s preference was to hire young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, “who might not have the opportunity elsewhere. He took them from a risky lifestyle and gave them a job and some purpose. Alex has a real heart for that and that’s something we really admire,” she adds, “is giving back to our community.”
Because of the diverse backgrounds of Alex’s team, they needed technology systems in place that were simple, intuitive and easy to use. So WiseGuide prioritised an approach to tech that would allow them to maintain tight control over their food supply and stock levels. But getting it working all smoothly together proved tricky.
WiseGuise uses Doshii to connect
Earlier experience with integration solutions left Alex frustrated with hidden costs and a time-consuming learning curve.
Swayed by Doshii’s Commonwealth Bank-backing and its competitive price point, he agreed to connect – “which,” he says, “we’re very grateful for now!”
Seamless integration between Doshii and their OrderMate POS was a game-changer, making daily tasks much easier to handle.
“It’s way easier to use,” says Alex. “We’ve been really stoked with it.” One of their favourite Doshii features is the user-friendly menu manager, a tool that allows them to effortlessly update pricing, take items offline when necessary, and streamline their digital menus across multiple ordering apps with ease. “There’s a lot more options involved as far as being able to take products off our menus.” Alex notes that, whereas previously they would have had to call up customers on the phone if they had run out of an item, Doshii’s menu manager allows them to update across multiple online ordering apps in a snap.
It’s way easier to use. We’ve been really stoked with it.

Doshii’s Australian roots and its intuitive functionality also resonates deeply with WiseGuise. This local connection added a personal touch to the partnership that felt in sync with their values; “it’s good to see an Australian company really dominate in this field,” Alex notes. The seamless POS-integration with their major delivery partners like Uber Eats, and DoorDash is also a winning feature, letting online orders flow in seamlessly and get managed efficiently – no more pen-and-paper docket chaos!
Ultimately the decision to integrate with Doshii was a pivotal moment in WiseGuise’s journey towards success, simplifying their processes and helping them keep up with the pace of their booming business.
In a time when many hospitality venues have struggled to keep their doors open, WiseGuise is an example of resilience and success thanks in no small part to the pickup and delivery apps they rely on including Uber Eats and DoorDash – and a little help from Doshii’s seamless POS-integration. Amid rising costs and a challenging economy, WiseGuise is not only surviving, but thriving, showcasing the power of adaptability and forward-thinking hospitality technology.
With Doshii, their journey has just begun, but the early results are already promising.
The menu manager tool has been a true game-changer, helping them navigate a constantly evolving hospitality-tech landscape with confidence. That’s because, much like Alex’s favourite pizza, “the Stapleton,” with its harmonious blend of sweet soy, sweet chilli, mushrooms, chicken, cheese, sour cream, and brie, it just works.
