Safe to say, chef Brad of Noo Moo Foods has a fair bit on his plate. 

On a mission to make vegan food tasty after making the big lifestyle change himself at the advice of Doctors, Brad and wife Lorraine are cooking up a tasty revolution in Melbourne’s north.

What started out as a vegan burger shack back in 2019 has also now become (through numerous Melbourne lockdowns) a wholesale vegan food manufacturing business and a hemp soft serve ice cream purveyor. Brad’s only challenge now is ensuring there’s enough electricity to power all three businesses at his Heidelberg West warehouse!

“We were pretty lucky being able to ‘pivot’ right at the start of lockdown as we started with a food truck so we could get to the edge of our 5km radius to serve customers their vegan goodies. Then we got some seats and a liquor licence for our factory and now we’ve got a wholesale business running too. It’s been quite the journey!” says Brad.

When it comes to the dine-in and takeaway businesses though, Noo Moo is nearly all online and Doshii integrates Deliveroo, Mr Yum and DoorDash into their Square POS, which Brad says is ‘essential’.

“About 90% of the business comes through online channels. Either delivery or takeaway through apps and the QR code activated dine-in menu and ordering through Mr Yum.’ Says Brad.

There’s typically just the two of us working so making sure we’re efficient as possible, focusing on the food is essential. The vegan revolution is here to stay, so are my integrations with Doshii

I’ll always look for technology that’s going to make life easier and streamlined, and switching to Square and Doshii was so easy.” Brad adds.

Next up for Brad, his wife Lorraine and the Noo Moo Foods team is expanding to Dunsborough, WA. Not only will this help reduce costs of getting hemp ice cream 5000km across Australia, it’s also not a bad place to be in the hemp game.

For now though it’s more game-changing vegan meat, bringing the vegan revolution to Aussies across the country and killer soft-serve flavour combinations like Chocolate and Pineapple, which Brad says is ‘just like a Pascall Klinker.’
